Our Process
Our Process
We work with our client to develop and refine an overall vision for the project which supports the editorial aims and ambitions of the channel
Our process divides into four main stages
Phase 1: Concepts & Visualisations
Initially our concepts are created in simple 3D software these are then developed into more photo realistic visuals that show the whole environment including brand colours, lighting, scenic finishes and all potential camera shots.
Our concept work is governed by the studio dimensions. In a new studio complex, we can work alongside the broadcast architects to suggest the optimum layout for technical wall boxes, entrances and scenic get in doors. At Sky News Arabic in Abu Dhabi we recommended cutting holes in the studio walls to reveal the newsroom and production galleries as shown above.
Phase 2: Technical Drawings
After approval of the final design, the team produce a set of design drawings which carefully outline the details of the design including specifications for materials and finishes.
Phase 3: Oversee Off Site Production
We work closely with the scenic fabricators to make sure that the scenery is built in line with the technical drawings. Full size mock-ups of key scenic pieces are constructed to ensure that any technology fits and functions as expected.
Phase 4: Oversee Installation & Rehearsals
The designers then oversee the visual aspects of the installation to check that the scenery is set correctly in the studio
Transmission
Finally, we work alongside the lighting director and program director to ensure that the camera shots match the initial vision.
