Channel 9 Paris Olympics 2024

Jago design were invited to develop an “Extended Reality” set for Australian broadcaster Channel 9’s 2024 Olympic games coverage.

Channel 9 had invested in a fantastic, but small, temporary studio with a superb view of the Eiffel tower. Drawing on the Olympic brand and Parisian style the team designed a 360-degree scenic environment. The presentation desk, rostra and one third of the surrounding scenery, were “real,” manufactured in the UK and installed in the Paris studio. Our designers worked closely with virtual production specialist AE Live to build the remaining two thirds of the space virtually in Unreal Engine. This additional environment gave the presentation team masses of scope to add player date, imagery and medal tables. Alex Rolls Channel 9 producer said “We’ve gotten behind the Paris Games and we can see Australia has gotten behind it, with the viewing figures that we’re getting. We’re exceeding expectations, and we’re delighted.”
